A high performance, synthetic, industrial gear oil based on polyalkylene glycol and specially selected additives. Shell Tivela is free of chlorine-, sulphur- and lead-based materials. These oils offer the highest level of lubrication and excel particularly in the field of sliding contact lubrication, such as worm and wheel gearboxes and chains. They also offer higher levels of gear tooth pitting protection. Tivela must NEVER be mixed with mineral oil and ideally not mixed with other polyglycol lubricants in order to preserve its anti-corrosion and demulsification properties.
